Since La Conchiglia Resort is on the promontory, “walking distance” becomes a mixed bag. The most pertinent destination, Grotticelle Beach (one of the best in Italy), is technically within walking distance (about 15-20 minutes downhill), but coming back up is a steep, sweaty climb. Most guests walk down and catch the shuttle back up to the hotel.

The hotel is located in a quiet resort area. There are a few amenity shops around but nothing much. A small minimarket close by offers basic supplies such as water and sunscreen among others. Independent restaurants and pizzerias can be found within about ten to fifteen minutes walking distance along the main road, Viale Giuseppe Berto.

You can walk up to the Capo Vaticano Lighthouse (Faro) in about 20-25 minutes. This is a must-do walk for the incredible vistas over the cliffs and hidden coves. However, for "town" life-shops, gelaterias, and piazzas-you cannot walk; you have to drive to nearby Ricadi or Tropea.
